What we score, and why
Every vendor review on PeptideCrib is scored by a named editor across six published criteria, each from 0 to 5:
- Product range — breadth and depth of the catalog relevant to researchers.
- Pricing — how prices compare to the market for equivalent products, including bundle value.
- Shipping policy — clarity, speed claims, packaging standards, and regions served.
- Payment options — variety and reliability of accepted payment methods.
- Third-party testing / COA transparency — whether the vendor publishes independent Certificates of Analysis, how easy they are to find, and how recent they are. We weight this criterion heavily because it is the clearest quality signal in this industry.
- Website experience — findability of critical information, checkout clarity, and support access.
How a review is produced
- Research is drafted, then a named editor fact-checks every claim against the vendor’s live site and public information.
- The editor enters the six sub-scores personally — scores are never machine-generated.
- The review is published under that editor’s name, linked to their author page and LinkedIn profile.
- Material changes after publication are logged in the visible changelog on the review, so you can see what was updated and when.
Fairness
Reader ratings are collected separately, moderated to block spam, and displayed alongside — never merged with — our editorial score. Every review includes a vendor-response section: any reviewed company may submit an official reply, and we publish it unedited. We accept no payment for ratings or placements.
